This year 42 Ecuadorian ESL teachers are visiting the University of Kentucky for seven months studying and teaching ESL in the Center for ESL. This is a $1.1 million grant from the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education, which is subcontracted through Kansas State University. The Center for English as a Second Language organized a discussion and viewing of the 2012 Vice Presidential debate, which gave students an opportunity to practice conversation and express their political opinions. Students shared political insight, comparisons to politics in their home countries, and reactions to the debate.
