The General English course is intended to improve the general language skills of non-native speakers of English and will focus on listening, speaking, reading, and grammar.
The Business English/TOEIC course emphasizes skills to help students gain success in the American corporate culture. Workshops include: résumé building, oral presentations, interviewing strategies, Western e-communication, and TOEIC preparation.
The GRE Verbal & TOEFL Test Prep course will prepare students for the GRE Verbal and TOEFL examinations. The course emphasizes vocabulary building strategies, critical thinking exercises, test-taking skills, and 30-minute essay writing workshops.

Who participates? Non-native speakers of English of all proficiency levels may attend this program, and it is designed for participants who are already in the United States. For example:
employees of local companies
residents of Lexington and surrounding areas
spouses of graduate students and faculty
and anyone else who does not need a student visa
Can I take the TOEFL? Yes. At the end of each class, students have the option to take the institutional TOEFL offered every 8-weeks. The cost is $50.
